Mt Hotham Fly In
On the 7th of June, the opening of the ski season in Victoria (Queens Birthday Weekend), we will be conducting a fly in to Mt Hotham (YHOT) Anybody who has a VATSIM membership is welcome to join in on the great experience as it is online. As stated before the fly in will be conducted on the 7th of June for the whole day. You can fly in from any airport at any time, although the emphasis of traffic will probably be at around 5:00 to 11:00. YHOT doesn’t have any approach aids so fly during the day (in flight sim) if you are uncertain about surrounding terrain. If the weather is not suitable there may be a diversion to Albury (YMAY). Also, you can fly any aircraft you want, just remember that the max size would probably be about the equivalent of the Dash-8 100/200. It would be great to see a few Qantaslink Dash-8’s as they begin their scheduled services at the same time bringing snow lovers from Sydney and Melbourne.
